What is Pilates and what are its benefits?
Pilates is a body conditioning method which focuses on strengthening the body’s core. Specialized equipment helps elongate muscles, develop strength and flexibility, all with minimal impact on the joints. It allows the body to move with balance, coordination and efficiency. This allows people of all ages, body types, and ability levels to reap the many physical and mental benefits of Pilates. Pilates is very effective for both the rehabilitation of injuries and the transformation of a healthy body into a toned physique. Pilates provides the tools to transform your body whether you are looking to improve your posture and physique or get healthy and strong following an injury.

How many days do you recommend working out to see results?
Depending on your goals, we recommend working with us as many times as your budget and schedule will allow. Most of our clients take 1-2 lessons a week.

Is Pilates only for women?
Absolutely not! Joseph Pilates was an athletic man! Usually there are more women in the studio than men, however we have a lot of male clients of all ages at our studio who work out with us several times a week.

I’m pregnant or I just gave birth. Can I do Pilates?
Pilates is wonderful exercise for pre and post-natal women. Several of our trainers are mothers who practiced Pilates during and after their own pregnancies. Several of our trainers specialize in pre- and post-natal Pilates.

Are your instructors certified?
Yes, every Windansea Pilates instructor has been certified by organizations that are respected leaders in the field such as Stott Pilates and BASI International. Each instructor has detailed knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology and correct workout progression.

Where do I park?
There is free, 1-2 hour parking on Fay Avenue. There are also a limited number of free parking spaces in a small lot located behind Sycamore Court. This lot is accessible via the Bishop’s Lane alleyway between Kline and Pearl streets.
